High-Risk Myocardial Infarction Database Initiative

High-Risk Myocardial Infarction Database Initiative

Studies 4
The primary objectives of this initiative were to use this large database to define more precisely the prognostic profile of this high risk population and to perform rigorous subset analyses. The information has been extracted from the article: Dickstein, Kenneth, Judith Bebchuk, and Janet Wittes. "The high-risk myocardial infarction database initiative." Progress in cardiovascular diseases 54.4 (2012): 362-366.

General Information

Types of cohorts
  • Clinical trial
Region
Australia, Eastern Europe, Israel, Latin America, North America, New Zealand, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, Western Europe .
Setting
International
Funding
The original budget for creating the common database was approximately US200,000. No public source was willing to provide funding, so individual members of the Scientific Committee made contributions from local research funds.
Criteria of cohort's to be included
Randomized, controlled, double-blind clinical trials that evaluated a pharmacologic intervention in highrisk patients following acute myocardial infarction complicated with signs of heart failure or evidence of left ventricular dysfunction.
